My experience at Stroud Homes has been very positive, with strong training, great support 100%

Sales Consultant Mar 2026

The good things

  • Working at Stroud Homes has been a great experience. The training is very informative and well structured, which makes learning the role much easier. You are guided through each step and never feel like you are left on your own without support. I especially enjoy the training videos from James Stroud himself. They are clear, practical, and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into helping the team succeed. It really makes you feel like the whole Stroud team has your back. The culture is very supportive and Stroud genuinely feels like a family. Everyone is willing to help, share knowledge, and support each other to grow. It’s a great place for anyone who wants to learn the building industry while being part of a supportive team.

The challenges

  • The role has a steep learning curve. From the start I was told it’s like doing five uni degrees at once, and that’s pretty accurate. You are learning siting plans, understanding home designs, council and covenant requirements, and how all the different parts of the building process connect together. It can feel like a lot at the beginning, but the training and support from the Stroud team makes it manageable. Over time you build confidence and the knowledge starts to click into place.

The culture and the people are great and it’s a close and supportive team with good opportunities for career progression.

Operations Manager Aug 2022

The good things

  • The culture and the people are great. The team is pretty small and close, and work well together. Everyone is willing to help and teach. The opportunities for career progress are also brilliant. Started out in a mid level position and have worked to a management position with a lot of support and training in the process.

The challenges

  • The workload can be high at times, which is understandable considering the industry. The support is there to combat it along with other incentives.

In the five years I have worked for Stroud, I have been supported in all aspects of my career to foster growth and opportunity. I’m looking forward to what the future holds within the company.

Estimator Sep 2022

The good things

  • Being able to advance my career and qualifications during work and for it to be funded by Stroud. Having the flexibility to work from home and be with the kids when I need to be.

The challenges

  • There are so many systems and processes that you need to be over organised to make sure you are completing everything by the book.

The challenges

  • I personally don’t have any. However, if you aren’t a proactive person, then you will potentially struggle.
